Discover the groundbreaking work of Ellsworth Kelly in the "Ellsworth Kelly at 100" exhibition, a landmark retrospective marking the artist's centennial. This exclusive presentation, organized by Glenstone Museum, will be showcased at M7 in Doha, making its debut in the Middle East.
The exhibition encompasses over 70 pieces that trace the full spectrum of Kelly's artistic journey—from his formative years in post-war Paris to his final contributions as a leading figure in Modern art. Highlights include early masterpieces like Painting for a White Wall (1952) and Painting in Three Panels (1956), which exemplify Kelly's minimalist approach and his innovative dialogue with architectural spaces. The display also features Yellow Curve (1990), a pivotal work that represents Kelly’s exploration of the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and installation.
In addition to these seminal works, the exhibition presents the Chatham Series (1971), a collection of drawings and works on paper spanning from the late 1940s to the early 2000s, and a selection of Kelly’s lesser-known photographs from 1950 to 1982.
Celebrating what would have been Kelly’s 100th birthday in 2023, this exhibition introduces the MENASA region to an artist whose influence extends deeply into modern and contemporary art, design, and aesthetics.
