The AlKhansa Public Library is a noteworthy addition to any list of libraries. It is the first women's library in Qatar, founded in 1981, and boasts a collection of approximately 42,934 books, all of which are in Arabic. Additionally, there are 5,091 English language books available for visitors to peruse.
Located on the D Ring Road in Doha, Qatar, the AlKhansa Library not only provides a diverse range of informational resources to its visitors, but also offers a tranquil and comfortable environment for readers to indulge in their literary pursuits.
The library aims to provide various information resources necessary to offer informational and bibliographic services to the public of intellectuals and scholars in the geographical area in which it is located, in addition to providing the service of external lending of books to members of the sub-library. It also aims to conduct cultural activities and lectures periodically as well as during certain cultural events such as World Book Day. The library also receives school visits to familiarize students of the importance of the library and ways to use it and to identify its contents and ways to benefit from it.
