The personal library of Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani is a collection of books that he began collecting prior to assuming the reins of power in Qatar in the early 20th century. It was officially established according to his will after his death in 1982 AD and includes all the books from his personal library, as well as those from his other libraries in Doha Palace (the Amiri Diwan) and Al-Rayyan Palace. The library houses around 50 thousand Arabic titles and spans three floors.
The first floor of the library is dedicated to books on Islamic sciences and contains essential texts on the Qur’an, its sciences, Sunnah, and beliefs, making it a valuable resource for students. Additionally, this floor features a room for reading periodicals. On the second floor, visitors can find books on various subjects, including arts and other knowledge. The most notable feature of this floor is Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani's personal library, which provides access to his extensive collection of books and gifts he received from notable scholars and writers during his time. The library also contains personal books from other prominent figures such as Sheikh Abdullah bin Qasim Al Thani, Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, and Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al Mani, along with periodicals and statistics.
